CVEC Capacity Building Workshop at Gomtu HSS

A CVEC (Children’s Valued Educational Capabilities) Capacity Building Workshop was held at Gomtu Higher Secondary School on 30th August 2025, engaging 67 teachers in strengthening their understanding of inclusive and equitable education.

The event began with the official launch of the LIKE Club by the School Principal, together with the GESI team from Samtse College of Education. The GESI Project Coordinator introduced the CVEC project and its goal of fostering safe, inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environments through GESI integration.

Teachers participated in three interactive activities from the LIKE Club Activity Book:

  • Many Coloured, One Fabric – promoting identity, respect, and participation.
  • My Safe Corner – highlighting safety, bodily integrity, and non-discrimination.
  • Draw What I Say – encouraging imagination, communication, and participation.

The workshop concluded with reflections from teachers, who expressed that the activities were eye-opening, practical, and relevant to their classrooms. The LIKE Club was seen as a sustainable platform to continuously promote children’s valued educational capabilities in the school community.  Here are some highlights from the capacity building workshop:
